I’ve just returned from my last bit of Christmas shopping and am now thinking about the fruit mince pies I have yet to make. The fruit mince is prepared and ready, and the pastry has been chilling away in my fridge for the last two days. Alas, the kitchen is warming up, so I think  I will leave the pastry rolling for tonight.

While I wait for the annual Christmas mince pie frenzy to fall upon me, I thought I would share with you a short excerpt from The Light in the Labyrinth, and take you back to Christmas at the Tudor Court in 1535.
