Whether you’re an experienced writer or just starting out, this workshop is designed to deepen your ability to bring history to life through compelling storytelling.

Wendy J. Dunn, an experienced historical fiction author, historian and educator, will share with you what she has learnt about researching and crafting historically accurate and believable narratives over her years of writing historical fiction. 

This workshop covers:

What is exactly historical fiction?

How do you bring the past alive?

The processes Wendy uses to shape a narrative and realistic characters informed by the past. 

What publishers are looking for now in works of historical fiction.

Women writers share their thoughts and ideas on ‘writing the Mother’, both good and bad. The day includes: writing workshops, talks on pathways to publication, networking, and refreshments. You will have the opportunity to meet 7 published authors including: Wendy Dunn, Alex Stark, Anne Connor, Eugen Bacon, Kathryn Janet, Rebecca Jane, Kate Murdoch, Glenice Whitting, Leah Kaminsky, Eloise Faichney and Christine Bell.
