#highlightsof2022

#highlightsof2022 2022 was a really good year. January 1st 2022 brought the news All Manner of Things had gained the HFC gold medal for book of the year in the Tudor category.

I sold the Spanish foreign rights for All Manner of Things – a lovely cherry on top of All Manner of Things many lovely writing moments since its publication early in 2021. 2022 also brought the exciting news that it had gained first place for Tudor fiction in the 2021 Chaucer Award , was a Distinguished Favorite in 2022 The Independent Press Awards and a finalist in the 2022 Eric Hoffer Award.

I finished a new book in November – Henry VIII’s True Daughter: Catherine Carey, A Tudor Life, my first full length nonfiction work, commissioned by Pen and Sword Books and scheduled for publication in 2023. AND now have a new contract to write another nonfiction book.
I participated on two panels as a speaker in the international History Quill Conference.

I had poems published and a ten-minute play performed internationally, which was super cool.

I had pieces published by Historical Times, which includes To Be a Queen, a short story that became published in Copperfield AND an anthology, as well as an extract from my novel in progress, to be published on January 1st, 2023.
